Back in 1980, while the Swiss watchmaking world was reeling through the ?Quartz Crisis?, one Italian watchmaker decided to spice things up in the horological community. The result was ?Hublot?. Hublot was released in 1980 with the Hublot Classic, a watch that combined the elegance of a yellow gold case and the robustness of a rubber strap. This was the first time that someone had mixed a precious metal with an affordable rubber strap. Today, the legacy of Carlo Crocco and his brand is carried by the Hublot Classic Fusion collection. Combining the art of fusing precious metals with rubber straps or collaborating with personalities such as Richard Orlinski, the collection has the avant-garde nature of the brand.
