Rado was not a very well-known brand in the world of watchmaking during the 1960s. It was in 1962, the brand gained the recognition it deserved with the launch of the Rado DiaStar Original collection. This was the first scratch-resistant watch in the world and while the watchmakers were busy complicating the mechanical aspect of a timepiece, Rado solely concentrated on the aesthetical aspect of it.
